By this time my FM radio dial was pretty much locked in at CFNY - FM, 102.1, "The Spirit of Radio". I had lost my passion for the "rock and roll hair bands" of the 1980's. CFNY in those days provided a fresh, NEW, alternative to the AOR [album oriented rock] of the FM airwaves.
I was working [part-time] in a record store. I was lucky enough to go to the distribution warehouses for RECORDS ON WHEELS and THE RECORD PEDDLAR to help fill out the orders for stock for the store. That definitely was a bonus when there was some rare, must have record that was being played on CFNY!
Of course, working in a record store, I did have to pay attention to what was going on in the more "popular" genres of the time, as well. I couldn't just work to fill my personal collection.
